InstaGenerate started with a problem I kept running into myself. I play a fair bit online, and like a lot of gamers I ended up needing more than one account — a second account to support my main, somewhere to test things out, a fresh start on a different server. It's a normal part of how people play, but it creates a quiet headache nobody warns you about.
Every new account meant another email address, another username, and another password. Using my real email everywhere meant a constant stream of marketing, and the uneasy feeling that my main identity was tied to everything I signed up for. Reusing the same username made my accounts trivially easy to link back together — which rather defeats the point of having a separate one. And inventing yet another password I'd actually remember was a battle I kept losing.
So I started leaning on throwaway emails, a proper password generator, and a username generator to keep each account separate, private and secure. The trouble was that most of the tools I found were either buried under sign-up walls, smothered in pop-ups, or asked me for the very details I was trying to protect in the first place.
Why it exists
InstaGenerate is the version I wished existed: three free tools — a temporary email and inbox, a password generator, and a username generator — that work instantly, in your browser, with no account and no sign-up. There's nothing to register and nothing handed over. Open the page, get what you need, and go.
There's no big company behind it and no investors. It's built and run by one person, paid for by the ads on the site and the occasional affiliate link. That's deliberate — keeping it small and simple is what keeps it free.
How it works, and what we don't do
The passwords and usernames you generate are created entirely in your browser. They are never sent to us and never stored anywhere — we never see them. The temporary email tool uses a third-party inbox service, so anything sent there passes through that provider rather than us. Those inboxes are public by design, which is why they're meant for throwaway sign-ups and one-off verification codes only, never for anything that matters.
We don't run sign-ups, we don't ask for your details, and we don't sell anything about you. The full breakdown of what is and isn't collected lives in our Privacy Policy.
The guides
Alongside the tools, I write plain-English guides on the things I had to figure out the hard way: keeping your email private, building passwords that actually hold up, choosing usernames that don't follow you around, and managing multiple accounts across online games. If something here saves you the hassle I went through, then it's doing its job.
How it's paid for
The site is free, and stays free, because of advertising and a small number of affiliate links — for example, a password manager recommended alongside our password guide. If you click an affiliate link and go on to buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and those links are marked clearly where they appear. We only point to things we'd be happy to use ourselves.
